About the event
Kazakhs United, in collaboration with the Central Asian Student Association at Stanford, has launched an extensive flood relief program to respond to the massive floods that have devastated Kazakhstan. Triggered by heavy rains and spring snowmelt in early April, these floods have caused the country's largest emergency in the past 80 years, leading to a state of emergency declaration. The flooding has primarily impacted villages and rural areas, displacing the most vulnerable communities and causing widespread destruction.
The recent floods in Kazakhstan have resulted in the evacuation and rescue of over 200,000 people. Many regions have reported extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and agriculture, severely affecting the livelihoods of countless families. As authorities brace for a second wave of floods, the urgency for coordinated relief efforts has never been greater.
Kazakhs United is committed to providing immediate and effective assistance to flood-affected communities. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of those impacted by the floods by delivering essential relief and support, ensuring that the most vulnerable receive the help they need to recover and rebuild.
